One of Indians environmental ministry panels, has decided to protect a large patch of land in the country in order to protect the ever dwindling tiger population.

Original the company Rio Tinto wanted to remove about half a million trees in a area that lies in a Tiger Corridor of India.  The panel decided that removing this large patch of forest would create a permanent loss in the together population so it has been deferred.

Rio Tinto has stated that around 3 billion dollars of diamond are potentially located in this area, but as stated previously, they would need to remove half a million trees.
